Team Immunity’s Counter-Strike Source division has been going from strength to strength, and in recent times has reached the top of the Australian competition.
Beginning early June 2008, Team Immunity’s Source division roster under went various changes until finally resting on a successful core five. Although the line up was changing, Josh ‘deathdoG’ Edwards was part of the team from the start, and we deeply regret to announce that he is retiring from competitive gaming.
Josh ‘deathdoG’ Edwards has commented on his decision.
"4 years. That's how long I've been playing Counter-Strike:Source for. While most would consider the time I've invested into gaming a frivolous waste of said years, I consider it anything but. The friends gained, the camaraderie shared, and hopefully knowledge imparted was worth every moment spent. From immineNt, to SQL Gaming and finishing with Team Immunity, the people I've played with, the new faces I've met will stay with me for many years to come.
My deepest thanks goes out to my Team Owner and Manager Tony, for making this year the most enjoyable year in my 4 years of playing Counter-Strike:Source.
To Chris, Steve, Chad and Dan; by far some of the nicest and most talented players I've had the privilege of playing with. Hopefully you'll find someone in the near future to replace me.
To my closest friends and companions, many thanks for supporting me throughout my eSports Career and being there when it mattered. It has been an honour and a pleasure to play under the Immunity name and I look forward to continuing to serve this organisation that I’ve been so proud to be a part of. I'll be lending a hand in the future development of Team Immunity and eSports in Australia in the years to come.”
This leaves the Counter-Strike Source division as the following:
Chris 'emagine' Rowlands
Daniel 'Dewshu' Stockton
Steven 'stv' Cropper
Chad 'spunj' Burchill
With the Plan B competition on the horizon, Team Immunity is looking at swiftly finding a suitable replacement and to begin solid practise over the next few weeks.

After an exciting finals series in the GotGames CEVO Professional league, Team Immunity has come out on top, taking the title.
The grand final took place on Sunday the 14th of June and was one of the most anticipated games in recent times. With the top two teams in Australia competing, Team Immunity and the recently renamed Sublime the match was expected to live up to its blockbuster potential.
Team Immunity – deathdoG, Dewshu, emagine, spunj, stv
Sublime – Havoc, ox1, padz, shadzke, shark
Both teams were sporting their lineups used in the semi-finals and were practicing hard in preparation for the match. Beginning with a knife round on de_dust2, Sublime took advantage winning this important start and decided to pick which side they would start on. With this decision made, Team Immunity was faced with the option of picking any map they wanted out of the normal war map rotation. Immunity decided to stay with the current map de_dust2 and would begin the match on the Counter-Terrorist side.
Excellent team work and well rehearsed setups by Team Immunity proved to be invaluable as they look an early lead of 6 rounds to 0. Sublime decided that this would be enough rounds and initiated their traditional pick and roll strategies which would effectively. These tactics continued to work and surprisingly the score line favoured Sublime at half time, 8-7.
Although momentum seemed to be on Sublimes side, Team Immunity began the second half much like the first – converting the important second pistol round and subsequent save rounds following. The gun rounds were a back and forth fight between the two powerhouses, when one team won a round the other quickly responded with their own successful round. This situation continued until some aggressive play from Team Immunity resulted in them taking the lead and eventually winning the match 16-13.
Because Team Immunity were undefeated coming into the grand final they only had to win one map to be crowned champions!

After weeks of competitive Counter-Strike Source, the GotGames CEVO Professional League has reached the finals with two teams standing; Team Immunity and Encore.
Beginning the season in perfect fashion, Team Immunity went from strength to strength each week. A couple of losses towards the end of the season however did not dampen or alter the team’s path whatsoever, going into the grand finals with two lives. Encore however, although finishing ahead of Team Immunity in the regular season are faced with a one life deficit. Simply put, Team Immunity only needs to be victorious in one map to be crowned champions of this season.
The match takes place on Sunday the 14th of June in the evening and it is expected to be one of the greatest games this year in Australian Counter-Strike Source. The format has been released as the following; a knife round on de_dust2 will initiate the finals, with the winner deciding to pick a map or a side. Whichever team picks the map, the other team consequently is given the chance to pick which side they want to begin.
It will be extremely interesting to see how this plays out in the strategy of the two teams. Be sure to come online earlier prior to the game so you can get a slot in the SourceTV to watch the game. Last time these two teams competed in the semi-finals, the spectators were exceeding 300!
Stay tuned to the website for the details of the SourceTV and also for the official time schedule of the match.

As participants of competitive eSports, Team Immunity’s players are equipped with the best peripherals and products on the market. The following article will be published in a series, highlighting an in depth review of the various products used by Team Immunity.
One of the most important aspects of gaming is the quality of sound. A top of the range pair of headphones allows for the gamers to manipulate in-game sound with ease and comfort.
The first headphones in review are from the the international organization Sennheiser, who for more than 60 years have represented the highest quality products and customised solutions in various areas of sound transmission and recording.
The first product reviewed in this initial series is the Sennhesier PC150 headphones which are highly rated by the Team Immunity professionals. The PC150 noise cancelling headphones represents a high quality product at a very affordable price range of approximately $100 AUD.
Designed for the serious gamer or casual computer user, the PC150’s has an in-built microphone which stands second to none in its ability to present a clear and concise voice output. Aesthetically pleasing, the greatest asset to the headphone is its ultra light headband which enables for hours of gaming or internet surfing without discomfort.
As Sennheiser’s focal point is sound quality, it is quite understandable that the sound quality of the PC 150’s is exceptional. Although the headset is a candidate for high calibre sound and immense comfort, there are also features that give the PC 150 even more of an edge on competitors. The headset contains a useful in-line volume controller which also includes a microphone mute switch; these features allow the user to change the sound volume easily and effectively without interrupting what you are doing. The microphone is also uni-directional, which allows you to adjust the position of the mic, whether you want it to be close to your mouth or not even out at all.
The PC150 out shines any headset in its price range, in sound quality, comfort and features and is strongly recommended by Team Immunity.
Over the years Team Immunity members have used this headset and there are currently 10 PC 150's that travel with the team's Intel powered computers that are being used in a gaming league.
Specifications:
• Freq Response: 18-22,000Hz
• Impedance: 32 Ohms
• SPL 114 dB
• Connector: 2 x 3.5 mm for PC/laptop
• Microphone: Uni-directional

It has been a wild and exciting month for Team Immunity’s Counter-Strike Source division, as they encountered some low points which got significantly out shined by some high ones.
Leading into the home run stretch to the finals of the GotGames CEVO Professional League, Team Immunity was sporting a 9-0 record, in first place position. This crumble das the team lost 3 straight matches, all very close games.
Although slightly disheartened the team still finished in second place, which meant they would progress to the finals of CEVO. The finals bracket is a double elimination with the top 4 teams competing, 1st plays 4th and 2nd plays 3rd.
Ultimately this resulted in a Round 11 rematch against iCHOR on de_dust2, which Team Immunity narrowly lost in over time. The match started with a knife round win to Team Immunity who quickly chose to start the aggressive Terrorist side. A progressive B take on pistol saw iCHOR quickly turn the round to their favour with a 3v1 situation against Joshua ‘deathdoG’ Edwards. Although the situation did not pose well for deathdoG, he displayed amazing skill and managed to overcome the two enemies to win the first round of the match. Team Immunity then cleaned up the two save rounds with poised patience making the score 3-0, leading in to the first gun round. iCHOR fired back however winning 4 rounds consecutively, showing they would not give up without a fight. However, Team Immunity’s team work was impeccable allowing them to win a few close rounds. Motivation proved to be a key aspect for Team Immunity to find momentum to close out the first half winning 8 rounds in a row, making the half time score 11-4.
Starting now on the defensive side, Team Immunity dominated the first pistol round in a strong convincing fashion and continued their play from there. Solid positioning and some big plays from Daniel ‘dewshu’ Stockton saw Team Immunity hold off iCHOR 16-6 and progress to the semi finals.
The Team Immunity Source division has also been active in other areas, with other various competitions coming up. In the beginning of May, GotGames ran a preliminary aim_map invite tournament for the top players to trial the new maps. It was Team Immunity’s Steve ‘stv’ Cropper who managed to progress after a few close matches and win the finals. GotGames is also running a State Championship tournament where captains are selected for various states and then are to choose players to compete. A big congratulations goes out to all the Team Immunity Counter-Strike Source players who were all picked to compete for their states, and a special congratulations goes to Josh ‘deathdoG’ Edwards and Steve ‘stv’ Cropper who were nominated as captains for NSW and WA respectively.
Josh 'deathdoG' Edwards (Sydney Surge)
Chris 'emagine' Rowlands (Sydney Surge)
Daniel 'Dewshu' Stockton (NSW Lions)
Steven 'stv' Cropper (Western Force)

Finally, Team Immunity has confirmed their place in the AINC 2009 Finals in Melbourne, taking place on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of July. Alongside Team Immunity are 9 other confirmed teams that won or were runners up in their various state qualifiers.
Taking place in the near future is a last chance competition, for teams that were unable to progress at the qualifiers. The team is currently practising hard for this tournament, if you are in Melbourne be sure to stop by and watch Team Immunity in action and say hello.
